Kananga, Leyte — May 2, 2025— Graduating students of Eastern Visayas State University–Carigara Campus (EVSU-CC) gathered at the Our Lady Queen of Peace Hermitage in Kananga, Leyte for a one-day recollection activity designed to provide spiritual reflection and renewal as they prepare for life beyond college.
The activity featured a Holy Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Felix Ebacitas, who delivered a powerful homily emphasizing the importance of God’s presence in every individual’s life. He reminded the students that “Love is God,” and explained that justice is the minimum expression of love. He also shared the profound message “I am nothing without God,” symbolically represented by the five fingers of a hand, inviting students to place their trust in divine guidance.
The recollection brought together graduating students from various academic programs of EVSU-CC. Through personal sharing, guided reflections, and inspirational talks, participants were given the opportunity to look back on their academic journey and the life experiences that molded them.
The event was facilitated by faculty members, including class advisers and representatives from the graduation committees, who provided support and spiritual guidance throughout the activity.
The recollection concluded with students expressing their gratitude for the experience. Many shared how the activity helped them gain a renewed sense of purpose and clarity as they prepare to face new opportunities and challenges after graduation.
The university recognized the recollection as a meaningful and timely initiative, reaffirming its commitment to holistic student development—fostering not only academic excellence but also spiritual growth.
