Barugo, Leyte – Eastern Visayas State University–Carigara Campus (EVSU-CC), through its Extension Services Head Amelita A. Ariza, joined the celebration of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) Graduation and Moving-Up Ceremony held on July 18, 2025, at the Don Simplicio Apostol Gymnasium in Barugo, Leyte.
The event marked a significant milestone for ALS learners as graduates and completers were formally recognized in the presence of key education and local government leaders, including Hon. Raissa Villasin, Board Member of Leyte’s 2nd District. Also in attendance were ALS Education Program Supervisors, Public Schools District Supervisors (PSDS), ALS managers, coordinators, educators, and institutional partners.
Celebrating the resilience and accomplishments of out-of-school youth and adult learners, the ceremony reaffirmed the shared commitment of the Department of Education and its partners to promote inclusive, accessible, and lifelong education.
As a partner institution, EVSU-CC’s participation highlights the university’s enduring support for community-based education initiatives. Through its Extension Services Office, the campus continues to strengthen its collaboration with ALS Barugo, helping expand educational opportunities beyond traditional classrooms.
