๐พ๐๐ง๐๐๐๐ง๐, ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฉ๐- In a touching ceremony held today, 17 January 2025, at the Eastern Visayas State University-Carigara Campus, friends, colleagues, and family gathered to celebrate the remarkable career of ๐๐ฑ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐ข๐ณ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฉ, ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐๐ป๐๐ผ๐ป๐ถ๐ผ ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ, ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฑ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐จ๐ป๐ถ๐, who dedicated 36 years of service to this institution.
Mr. Antonio B. Lacanaria, fondly called โSir Tony,โ was among the pioneering staff when the institution started to take shape from Carigara School of Fisheries and finally transformed into what it is now. As one of the pioneers, heโs been after the campusโ welfare through thick and thin, especially when Supertyphoon Haiyan (Yolanda) severely hit Leyte and left the campus devastated. Through Mr. Lacanaria’s management and coordination, the campus has gradually recovered.
The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Mary Jean P. Yanger, the Campus Director of EVSU-CC, who expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Lacanaria for his unwavering contributions to the institution. The gathering continued with touching and emotional messages, sharing testimonies from visitors, friends, colleagues, and family members recounting their favorite moments with โSir Tony,โ which highlighted his impact on their lives and careers that marked a farewell and a tribute to his enduring legacy. Each story added depth to celebrating his achievements and underscored his lasting impression on those around him. The atmosphere was warm filled with camaraderie as everyone came together to honor a remarkable individual whose dedication will be remembered for years.
