CARIGARA, LEYTE – Eastern Visayas State University – Carigara Campus (EVSU-CC) officially concluded its work immersion program for Senior High School students from Gregorio C. Catenza National High School (GCCNHS), Tunga, Leyte, with a celebratory culminating activity held on January 30, 2026, at the campus mini-gymnasium.
The event marked the end of an intensive three-week program designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical industry application. During their stint at EVSU-CC, the student-immersionists were deployed across various administrative offices and technical departments, gaining hands-on experience in office management, ICT support, and workplace professional ethics.
Campus Director Dr. Renato E. Martija, in his inspirational message, emphasized the long-term impact of the program on the students’ professional development. “Our goal was not just to give them tasks, but to give them a sense of what it means to be a professional in a higher education setting,” Martija stated. He added that as the students leave the university, they carry with them the knowledge and skills vital to securing a better future.
The culminating ceremony featured several key segments, including student reflections where selected immersionists shared testimonials regarding their personal growth and the challenges they overcame. This was followed by the awarding of certificates of completion to all GCCNHS students, with special recognition given to outstanding performers for their dedication. The program concluded with photo opportunities to serve as souvenirs of their professional journey.
Representing the GCCNHS School Principal, Mr. Santiago Esquibel II, expressed profound gratitude to the EVSU-CC administration for providing a conducive and supportive learning environment. This successful collaboration highlights the continued partnership between EVSU-CC and GCCNHS, reinforcing both institutions’ shared commitment to producing skilled and competent graduates under the K-12 curriculum.
