Tacloban City, Philippines – On February 20, 2025, the Eastern Visayas State University Main Campus honored employees from the EVSU Carigara Campus for their years of dedicated service during the “Gawad Parangal 2025” celebration. During the ceremony, six employees were recognized for reaching significant career milestones. Three received the Loyalty Award for serving the institution for 10 to 25 years, while the other three were honored upon their retirement after 34 to 43 years of service.
University President Dr. Dennis C. De Paz expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the awardees, stating, “Your dedication and service have been instrumental in shaping the growth and success of our university, and you deserve commendation. Thank you”.
The recognized employees were awarded plaques of recognition. Among them were Edgar Dacoycoy, Chief of Security Services, who has served the university for 25 years; Amy Ripalda, College Librarian I, for 20 years; and Elvera Quilaquil, Instructor III, for 10 years. The retirees honored were Antonio Lacanaria, AO V, for 43 years of service; Amelita M. Sari, Associate Professor V, for 36 years; and Otilia Misagal, Associate Professor V, for 34 years.
Each awardee received a plaque, medallion, pin, and cash incentive. The recognition ceremony was attended by university officials, employees, and guests.
