Excellence and Empowerment: EVSU-CC extends community service before the year ends

Tunga, Leyte—As one of the university’s mandated functions is helping communities, the Eastern Visayas State University-Carigara Campus, headed by Dr. Mary Jean P. Yanger, Campus Director, and through the initiative of the Project L.I.V.E (Leverage Investment through Venture and Empowerment) Team, led by Instructor Anabelle T. Cerezo, Project Leader, extended a community service today, December 27, 2024, to the women’s organization of Brgy. San Pedro in this municipality.

The first activity conducted was the “Personal Entrepreneurial Development Seminar,” whose focal person was Dr. Ma. Loida Marquez. Attended not only women of the community but also some of the Brgy. Council Members including the Chairman on Women’s Committee, Hon. Alma Bodo and the Brgy Chairman, Hon. Orlando Sudario, the seminar aimed to impart knowledge about entrepreneurial development, boost entrepreneurial skills, and develop a strong sense of accountability and responsibility among women participants.

The conducted activity was just one of a series of trainings under Project LI.V.E, whose main objective is to help and assist the community through women’s empowerment by educating women to leverage their living, thereby reducing inequalities and attaining sustainability.

Project L.I.V.E is an initiative of EVSU-CC through partnership with the Local Government of Tunga, Leyte and EVSU-CC anchored though a Memorandum of Agreement which was signed and approved by both parties on October 5, 2023.- AT Cerezo
